OBM is currently recruiting for an experienced HSSEQ Manager for ASCO Teesworks based in Teesside, Middlesbrough.


The successful candidate will report to the General Manager. The HSSEQ Manager will be responsible for ensuring the workplace is a safe environment for the employees and site users at a quayside operations facility. They will proactively ensure the site is legally compliant with UK health and safety legislation. Duties include (but not limited to):


Roles and Responsibilties

* Providing technical, management and supervisory support to the HSSEQ function.

* Implementing and maintaining our Client's Integrated Management Systems and the associated HSSEQ policies, procedures and processes.

* Establishing and maintaining key working relationships with the regulatory authorities and other external stakeholders in the region.

* Overseeing the incident investigation and management process from commencement to completion, thereby ensuring the completion of investigations within a timely manner.

* Use of and monitoring the Pisys, Sevron and Barbour systems ensuring compliance with requirements and regulations.

* Supporting the tendering process through the compilation of high quality HSSEQ submissions within specified deadlines.

* Supporting operations to deliver excellence in HSSEQ performance through the development of a proactive safety culture and legal compliance.

* Interfacing with worksite management teams to address issues of non-conformance concerning our Client's policies, procedures and safe systems of work.

* Undertaking and monitoring site verification audits ensuring that all actions are closed out within specified deadlines.

* Interfacing with Appropriate Industry Bodies as and when required.

* Attending client monthly and Quarterly Performance Reviews and events


Minimum Competencies (Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours)

* Excellent communicator with good inter-personal skills.

* Strong ability to drive change and be innovative.

* Ability to build effective relationships with staff across all levels of the business.


Minimum Qualifications

* NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) or degree qualified in a safety or risk management related subject

* Chartered Membership of IOSH (or working towards) or Member of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management

* Lead/Internal Auditor QMS/EMS/SMS.

* UK Driving Licence
