Operations Manager

The successful candidate will report to the General Manager - Teesworks. The Operations Manager will be responsible for the safe, efficient and cost-effective management of a quayside management operation. The position holds senior leadership responsibility for safety, the culture of improvement/change, and profit & loss accountability. Responsible for leading on the delivery of operational service requirements, operational service improvements to achieve performance and financial targets. Supporting performance with communication, planning and reviews.
Roles and Responsibiltiesn* Champion a high performance HSSEQ culture by leading by example as a visible safety leader.n* Lead and manage ASCO Teesworks operations providing direct decision making and leadership to direct reports who are at supervisor or above.n* Responsible for the overall direction and performance of our Client's Teesworks operational teams and our Client's controlled operational sites.n* Improve processes and practices in support of organisational goals by applying LEAN and continuous improvement principles.n* Lead and manage individual and team performance and development.n* Responsible for proactively implementing safe working practice in line with HSSEQ guidelines and legislation.n* In partnership with the HSSEQ department, ensure the continuous improvement of safety and environmental performance and compliance to all laws, regulations and industry standards/codes.n* With support from our Client, lead the integration of our Client's iLMS operating system into the environment and with the Customer's Port Management System.n* Use Power BI to report KPIs and build monthly reports.n* Responsible for the successful 24/7/365 operation of Teesworks including recruitment, training and scheduling requirements.n* Coordinate and monitor the effectiveness of operations to sustainably meet demand within safe operating limits.n* Identify opportunities for growth; to introduce new products and services; cost reductions and cost efficiency savings.n* Ensure that Assistant Operations Manager and Superintendents/Supervisors are fully trained to fulfil their operational activities and responsibilities, empowering them to fulfil their roles.n* Support the General Manager - Teesworks with the management of our Client's P&L.n* Financial planning and budgetary control, and disposal cost effectivenessn* Assist in the development and execution of business plans with a primary focus on widening the ASCO service offering at Teesworks and on profit growth.

Minimum Qualificationsn* Degree or experience relevant to the rolen* UK Driving Licence.n* IOSH Managing safety
