Export Sales Engineer


Job Purpose

To identify, pursue and negotiate sales for the Baker Perkins capital equipment product range (mainly in Bakery business) and support the development of the wider global business strategy (for example in South Africa and other parts of the world).

Main Duties

  • Maintain and grow relationships with your customers through contacts and regular visits
  • Understand the customer’s needs relative to Bakery market: our solutions are unique, the expectations and needs of our customers are to be uncovered
  • Lead the support teams, for the preparation of proposals, as we have long sales cycle
  • Negotiate and secure orders and contracts that are profitable, commercially secure and technically sound
  • Prospect for sales opportunities, initiate meetings to promote our solutions, become a real ambassador for our brand and the other brands of our Group
  • Actively manage agents, distributors in the territory through sales support, regular performance reviews and product training
  • Provide market information and competitor activity to support the development of our position in the Bakery industry, and help the business growing


Candidate Profile

  • Curiosity for technical and complex topics
  • Export sales experience
  • Ability to sell bespoke and high-value products, with long sales cycles - ideally, experience in capital sales (serving customers from Food & Beverage Industry, for example)
  • Key account management experience, with also the ability to promote our products in smaller companies
  • A self-starter but also a team player personality.
  • Cultural openness, flexible and adaptable personality
  • Ability to work away from home base for extended periods of time, both in the UK and overseas - travel around the world
