Salary: £35000 plus £4074 car allowance, 10% bonus and other benefits


Role Purpose


The HSEQ Advisor will assist the Company’s HSEQ Manager and Site Contract Managers with the implementation and maintenance of HSEQ policies, procedures, and processes within designated contracts, primarily located in the Midlands.

This role will provide on-site HSEQ leadership, developing and implementing best practices and promoting compliance with the business values and HSEQ policies. The Advisor will ensure adherence to current HSEQ legislation, as well as the customer’s policies and procedures. They will build effective relationships with the on-site teams and customer representatives, colleagues at other customer sites, and the Central Support functions.


Core Responsibilities


Delivery

  • Continually promote Health and Safety to both internal and external customers.
  • Seek out opportunities for improvement whilst maintaining service levels.
  • Maintain and develop HSEQ measures with a view to exceeding customer expectations.
  • Satisfy the business requirements whilst ensuring the customer’s demands are fulfilled.
  • Drive and achieve key internal and customer KPIs with regards to safety and training.

Collaboration

  • Fully understand both the business and the customer’s HSEQ programmes, including accident and near miss reporting and safety audits.
  • Carry out the required behavioral safety audits and attend site safety meetings.
  • Ensure timely HSEQ performance updates are provided to the HSEQ manager using the appropriate tracking and data systems.

Empowerment

  • Set up audit schedules.
  • Monitor audit activities – reporting on and creating action plans.
  • Conduct frequent internal audits.
  • Create audit reports and action plans and follow up on all action plans.

Moving Forward

  • Assist the business with the provision of in-house training in areas such as:
  • Toolbox talks
  • Manual handling training


Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge


Essential

  • NEBOSH National General Certificate or above
  • Working knowledge of current HSE Legislation
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Health and Safety processes and guidelines (Safety systems support)
  • 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management systems
  • Quality systems (ISO-9001)
  • Environmental systems (ISO 14001)

Desirable

  • Formal internal auditor qualifications
  • Educated to Degree Level
  • Working knowledge/experience of HSEQ systems management
  • Environmental systems.
  • ‘Train the trainer’.
  • Internal audits and mentoring auditors
