Legal & General are currently looking for an Information Security Technical Analyst to support the secure design and development of solutions, environments, and systems across the business division.

For the right candidate, we can offer you up to £700 p/d inside of IR35 (plus 17.3% Umbrella uplift) to join L&G on an initial 26-week contract, with a view to extend on a rolling basis, subject to performance and business requirements. Based out of the L&G office in Hove, you will work on a hybrid basis, attending the office 2 days per week. More flexible office attendance may be considered for strong applicants.

Reporting into the Information Security Manager, you will ensure that security is embedded into technical design for multiple projects, new product lines, etc, and that assurance and governance controls are fully operational.

Principal Accountabilities:

  1. Understand security control requirements, as defined in Legal & General's security policies, standards, and IT control framework, and translate them into key security design patterns and solution designs, to help advise project managers and developers across the business.
  2. Maintain awareness of current and emerging security risks and the changing threat landscape and recommend mitigating solutions to project managers and developers to help ensure security enhancement and controls are pro-actively applied across the LGRI estate.
  3. Support the development and maintenance of key information security building blocks and define reference models to help ensure efficient application and risk mitigation across Legal & General Retirement Institution.
  4. Assist in the evaluation and selection of security technology and products as defined in the security technology roadmap, to help ensure that the selected tooling aligns with Legal & General's control requirements.
  5. Review the configuration of existing systems or solutions and identify security issues which require a change to its configuration, provide improvement recommendations and escalate any potentials risks helping ensure security risks are pro-actively managed.
  6. Embed security requirements and guardrails into the business transformation programme ensuring security is a central focus of design, development, and implementation.

Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following qualifications, knowledge, and skills:

  • At least 3 years of experience in similar information security roles is essential.
  • Solid demonstrable expertise and knowledge of Azure (preferred) and/or AWS security technologies is essential.
  • Expertise and practical experience of Information Security frameworks including NIST, ISO27001/17 and STRIDE Threat Modelling Framework.
  • Understanding of general security practices such as encryption, IAM, PAM, penetration testing, container security, security information and event management etc. and supporting technologies.
  • Ability to take ownership and work proactively.
  • Organised with a proven ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines, and utilise time effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to deal effectively with diverse skill sets (both technical and non-technical) and personalities, works effectively as a team player.
  • A certification in the field of Information Security and/or Information Technology (preferred but not essential), such as CISSP, CISM, CCP or equivalent.
  • Experience in AI security would be highly advantageous but not essential.
  • Experience in Financial Services or other heavily regulated industries is preferred.
