The Role:


Reporting to the CEO, this standalone position will be responsible for developing and executing legal strategies in alignment with the business objectives. The successful candidate will assist with advising the business on any upcoming developments to the legal or regulatory landscape. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to guide the business on matters as far-reaching as to include contracts, policy wordings, financial services regulatory issues, data protection, complaints handling, litigation, employment law and more.


Responsibilities:


Responsibilities include and are not limited to:


  • Manage and mitigate legal and regulatory risks through policy and procedural proposals.
  • Analyze legal risks related to existing products and products in development.
  • Assist in preparing and filing governmental reports.
  • Review and draft employment contracts.
  • Review and provide consultation on regulatory actions, responses and all communications.
  • Provide guidance to executives on regulatory and compliance matters.
  • Draft and provide consultation on various contracts and legal documents.
  • Engage in all required legal research and supervise outside counsel as needed.
  • Stay current with legislation relevant to our business and regulatory requirement current and forthcoming.
  • Support the Head of HR in matters related to employment law.



Attributes and Experience:


  • Qualified solicitor entitled to practice in England and Wales (1-3 years PQE) with specialization/experience in corporate law.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial services and successfully managing tasks independently.
  • Experience with corporate governance matters.
  • Knowledge of FCA regulations and legal compliance.
  • Ability to build legal processes to support the broader business.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

This role is also open to a skilled Newly Qualified Solicitor who has expertise in legal compliance within the financial sector and can demonstrate a strong ability to work independently.
