Structural Engineering Lead


We are currently searching for a Structural Engineering Lead for a specialist contractor who have international reach. They specialise in the production and installation of prefabricated mechanical packages such as Plant Skids, Service Modules and Packaged Plantrooms.


They are currently outsourcing their structural engineering function to third-party consultants and due to continuous growth, they are now in a position to bring this in-house. Along with servicing the current and future needs of the business, there will be the flexibility to take on additional clients in the future and grow the offering.


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate all phases of structural engineering projects related to prefabricated mechanical packages, from initial planning to completion.
  • Lead and mentor a team of structural engineers, drafters, and other support staff, ensuring effective collaboration and productivity.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients, contractors, and other stakeholders, ensuring clear and effective communication and managing client expectations.
  • Develop detailed structural designs for prefabricated mechanical packages, ensuring they meet the required specifications and standards.
  • Perform complex calculations to determine load requirements, material strengths, and other critical factors specific to prefabricated units.
  • Use advanced engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SAP2000, ETABS) for modeling, simulation, and analysis of structural components within the prefabricated mechanical packages.
  • Ensure that designs comply with local, national, and international building codes and standards specific to prefabrication and mechanical systems.
  • Conduct visits to manufacturing facilities to inspect prefabricated mechanical packages, ensuring they adhere to the approved designs and standards.


Required:

  • Deep understanding of structural engineering principles, prefabrication techniques, and mechanical systems.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering
