Since 2009 we’ve been innovating away from a world dominated by cheap plastic toys and accessories trying to make products that do as little damage to the environment as possible. We’ve gone from strength to strength, and are currently stocked in over 43 markets worldwide, with products sold in retailers such as Waitrose, Ocado, Sainsbury’s, TK Maxx, John Lewis & Pets at Home, as well as independents across the UK and distributors worldwide…. but this is only the beginning We are seeking a driven and determined warehouse manager to implement and hold great standards for our flagship warehouse in Wimbledon.


Job overview:

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for leading initiatives to optimise warehouse operations, ensuring compliance with legal standards and enhancing overall productivity. This role involves evaluating current warehouse practices, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing best practices to achieve operational excellence. The Warehouse Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams to streamline processes, enhance safety, and improve efficiency, ensuring the warehouse meets the highest standards of performance and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Assessment & Improvement: Conduct thorough evaluations of current warehouse processes, workflows, and layouts to identify opportunities for operational enhancement. Develop and implement strategies to optimise efficiency and productivity across all warehousing activities.
  • Compliance Management: Ensure all warehousing practices comply with relevant legal regulations, industry standards, and company policies, particularly in areas such as Health & Safety, and environmental requirements. Regularly review and update procedures to maintain compliance.
  • Performance Optimisation: Introduce best practices in warehousing, inventory management, and material handling to boost productivity and accuracy. Establish clear metrics to measure performance and set targets for continuous improvement.
  • Team Development & Training: Lead, train, and mentor warehouse teams to enhance their skills and understanding of optimal warehousing practices. Foster a culture of continuous learning, safety, and efficiency.
  • Process Standardisation: Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and accuracy in all aspects of warehouse operations. Regularly review these SOPs to identify potential improvements.
  • Technology Integration: Leverage technology to streamline warehouse operations, including the use of warehouse management system (WMS) to drive efficiencies and accuracy.
  • Space Utilisation & Layout Design: Optimise warehouse layout and space utilisation to ensure efficient product flow, storage and replenishment, while minimising bottlenecks and delays.
  • Inventory Control: Oversee inventory accuracy and control measures, implementing solutions to reduce shrinkage, errors, and inventory mismanagement. Coordinate with supply chain and customer service teams to ensure smooth inventory movement.
  • Safety Leadership: Champion workplace safety by promoting and enforcing safety protocols, conducting regular inspections, and ensuring that all safety equipment and measures are up to date and functioning properly.
  • Facilities Management: Manage supplier contracts and use maintenance team members to ensure warehouse and non-warehouse communal spaces are fit for everyday use.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in warehouse operations, with a proven track record of driving performance improvement and operational excellence.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership abilities to guide and inspire teams, with experience in training and development.
  • Process driven: Able to document, implement and ensure adherence to robust process.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills to coordinate with various departments, suppliers and service providers.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), Microsoft Excel and customer/supplier portals.
  • Attention to Detail: High attention to detail to ensure compliance, accuracy, and quality in all warehouse operations.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Counterbalance forklift licence, in date advantageous
