GENERAL SUMMARY

The Project Planner will assist and act as advisor to the Project Manager in overall planning and regular reporting of the Project. In addition, the Project Planner will be responsible for all aspects of planning services and support.




PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

  • Ensure establishment and maintenance of an efficient Project Plan (including tender stage)
  • Maintain Project Master plan which shall apply for all phases of the Project
  • Coordinate the application of the Project’s WBS with the cost control function
  • Conduct meetings with engineering, procurement, subcontracting and construction and other parts of the organization in order to establish and maintain an optimized level 4 network schedule including manhour budgets
  • Ensure regular schedule baselines updates, according to contractual requirements
  • Adjust focus of the network schedule from phase to phase
  • Reporting to Client, Project Manager and PMT team on project progress issues. Including as relevant, critical path analysis, deviation analysis on time and progress/manhour trends/forecasts, schedule risk analysis, forecasting and proposals for preventive and corrective actions
  • Ensure that evaluation of schedule and manhour consequences of changes and deviations are done on the right level, and when relevant brought forward in variation orders to Client
  • Ensure Schedule Risk Analysis is done as part of the project’s risk process which also requires participation in risk workshops and risk committee meetings
  • Provide look ahead on upcoming events
  • Assist Procurement in establishing the Procurement Master Plan (PMP)
  • Ensure establishment of schedule and manhour consequences in internal change coordination
  • Liaison with manufacturing planning in order to align project priorities and criticalities with manufacturing slot plans
  • Ensure collection of benchmark data according to internal requirements




KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Knowledge and competence within the area of Planning Management
  • Good knowledge of ERP systems
  • Understanding of the project lifecycle




EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Operational experience within Planning Management
  • Minimum 7 years relevant experience
  • Experience in managing people and teams
