The Job:


The Jaq. Group is a fast-moving company which has experienced considerable growth over the last year. Specialising in high-quality fragrances and home scents across multiple brands we are looking for a talented indivudal to help support our strategic growth plans. The Cosmetic Safety Assessor is responsible for evaluating the safety of our cosmetic products, ensuring compliance with UK and EU regulations, and contributing to our commitment to product excellence and consumer safety.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety Assessment: Conduct comprehensive safety assessments of cosmetic products, including ingredient review and toxicological risk analysis, to ensure compliance with UK and EU regulations.


  • Regulatory Compliance: Prepare and issue Cosmetic Product Safety Reports (CPSR) in accordance with EU Regulation No 1223/2009 and UK standards.


  • Product Development Support: Collaborate with the production and product development team during product development to provide guidance on safety and regulatory issues.


  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records and documentation for all safety assessments and regulatory submissions.


  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on changes in cosmetic regulations and industry standards, and implement necessary changes to maintain compliance.


  • Client and Team Interaction: Act as a liaison between internal teams, clients, and regulatory bodies to provide expert advice on safety matters.

The Person:


Education:

  • A relevant Degree (e.g. pharmacy, medicine, dermatology, toxicology or another related discipline).


Experience:

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in cosmetic safety assessment or regulatory compliance within the cosmetics industry
  • Strong understanding of EU Cosmetics Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 and UK cosmetics safety requirements.


Specialist Skills/Knowledge:

  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in using regulatory databases and software.
  • Effective communication skills for collaborating with R&D teams and regulatory bodies.


Disposition:

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong ethical standards and commitment to product safety.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
