We're working with a FTSE 100 e-commerce firm that is looking for an experienced Application Security expert to enhance its secure software capabilities. This opportunity is ideal for a DevSecOps/Application Security technical consultant or engineer with a proven track record in agile environments. The role involves providing expert guidance and driving improvements to bolster the client's Application Security posture.


The role involves identifying and managing security toolsets, providing guidance to engineering teams, and maintaining solutions to prevent security issues early in development.


You will be responsible for assisting in the identification of appropriate toolsets that align with the application security team’s strategy, offering comprehensive guidance to enable engineering teams to effectively self-serve with the toolsets, and aiding in the management and maintenance of the chosen solutions.




Responsibilities:

Assist in identifying security toolsets that effectively uncover security issues in open-source software and first-party code.

Provide domain expertise on all areas of security and privacy throughout the Software Development lifecycle.

Work in line with agile practices, such as scrum.

Identify gaps in software engineering practices and recommend appropriate streamlined security solutions.

Deliver training on core application security products to both security and engineering teams.

Write comprehensive guidance for the selected security tooling.

Provide technical support for our products.




Experience & Core Technical Skills:

Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, or Java.

Experience deploying Application Security Tooling (SCA/SAST/DAST/IaC Security) into DevOps environments.

Deep understanding of application security across Web, API, and Mobile platforms.

Knowledge of OWASP Top 10, Mitre Top 25, and CVSS frameworks, with the ability to map to business risk.

Experience implementing security into different stages of a DevOps lifecycle.

Familiarity with microservices and container orchestration.
