Main Responsibilities for the role:

  • Leading a team to maximise its objectives and deliver excellent standards of performance.
  • Some aspects of people management for the team (with input from Heads of Department).
  • Ensuring that the legal/technical elements of the case conduct processes are maintained to the highest standards of efficiency, integrity and customer care.
  • Conducting technical file reviews and offering supervisory guidance/instruction.
  • Knowledge sharing with the team by way of supervision, training and case clinics.
  • Work in effective collaboration with other Team Leaders and Heads of Department to ensure standardisation of approach, learning and the smooth transition of cases and team working.
  • The successful applicant will also have conduct of a of a diverse caseload of multi-track or intermediate track matters valued up to £100,000, including RTA, EL, PL and OL work and should have a proven track record of success in serious injury personal injury work.


Accountable for:

  • Providing inspirational leadership to teams, including recruitment, motivation, training and supporting of team members.
  • Ensuring the progression of all cases in the team up to the point of settlement.
  • Ensuring the team provides outstanding service to customers.
  • Ensuring the team’s financial performance KPIs are delivered and maintained.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • The successful candidate should be a qualified Solicitor/CILEX or have equivalent work experience with a solid track record of successfully dealing with multi-track work.
  • Significant experience of handling serious injury claims and litigation experience.
  • Sound knowledge of the CPR, litigation process and cost budgeting process.
  • Experienced at dealing with a diverse range of liability scenarios including EL/PL as well as RTAs and multiple defendants.
  • Proven KPI’s in fees recovery, time recording and client care.
  • Inspirational leader of people and teams.
  • Excellent people and client care skills; a sensitive and professional approach always.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and proactive.
  • A commercial approach to litigation and case progression.
  • Willing to commit to achieving results and meeting deadlines.
  • Flexible in working hours and able to travel.
  • Good IT skills, especially in respect of Microsoft Office packages. Previous experience of Proclaim is preferable but not essential.
  • Able to liaise and work well with other integral teams across the business.
  • Excellent time management and organisation skills.
  • A strong track record of thinking and acting commercially in a legal environment.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • A willingness to put forward ideas and to engage in brand development, networking events and marketing.


Desirable qualifications, skills, and experience:

  • Experience of the Proclaim case manage system would be desirable.
  • Driving licence.
