THE PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced Business Operations Lead to oversee our sales division, bringing significant senior leadership experience and exemplary sales and management skills. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for driving business growth and success through the development and implementation of effective sales strategies. You will play a key role in achieving sales targets and enhancing client relationships.

Reporting Structure


Reports to: Managing Director

Accountable for: Recruitment Consultants and Sales Support


ESSENTIALS

  • Experience in the UK healthcare sector and operational management.
  • Proven management skills with the confidence to lead a high-performing team.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing sales strategies.
  • Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and margin management.
  • Excellent team leadership and development capabilities.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic planning skills.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and innovate.


Desirable Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of the healthcare sector and recruitment processes.
  • Experience with CRM systems and sales performance metrics.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership:

  • Promote a positive, productive environment that aligns with company values.
  • Drive business growth by motivating and inspiring team members.
  • Collaborate with the Managing Director to implement and operationalise strategic plans.
  • Act as a role model for desired behaviors.
  • Work with Business Development to devise expansion strategies and address business needs.
  • Seek and implement ways to improve profitability and business growth.
  • Ensure the sales team performs their duties as outlined in their job descriptions.


Managing the Team:

  • Conduct monthly performance reviews of Recruitment Consultants.
  • Review team performance with the Director, create development plans, and manage poor performers (PIPs).
  • Maximise productivity by effectively utilising all available resources.
  • Provide feedback based on client input and CRM data.
  • Manage the annual leave process and ensure team compliance with business strategies.
  • Leverage strategic initiatives to meet deliverables.
  • Provide on-the-job coaching and support training programmes.
  • Manage the offshore team in conjunction with the UK team.


Managing Operations/Performance:

  • Implement high-quality customer service across teams by handling client and candidate queries and complaints.
  • Ensure recruiters are effective and provide feedback to the team.
  • Monitor call quality using call logs and listening to a percentage of calls.
  • Ensure the Sales team’s candidates are proactively compliant.
  • Suggest business process improvements for efficiency and smarter working.
  • Monitor margins and ensure alignment with company targets.
  • Assist in managing debt with the Credit Control team.
  • Drive productivity through systems and competitions.
  • Circulate weekly sales reports and distribute daily figures internally.
  • Create sales plans and review processes for best practices and service improvements.
  • Provide monthly business reports reflecting key successes, issues, and business drivers.
  • Attend meetings and monitor actions.
  • Monitor and interpret management information data, emphasising risk identification and management.
  • Maintain a high % fill rate within each client and work on increasing the % fill rate.
  • Ensure the team meets targets for client service, reporting, and quality.
  • Meet financial targets and understand how to influence financial outcomes.
  • Build effective working relationships with internal colleagues and clients.


Integration:

  • Work with the Director and other Managers to ensure consistent HR, operational processes, and IT usage.
  • Align with the Senior Management Team to ensure strategic objectives are met.


Resourcing:

  • Oversee candidate resourcing using job boards such as Indeed, CV Library, and LinkedIn.
  • Mentor, train, and develop all direct reports.
  • Manage incoming applicants and consult with the Compliance Manager to ensure candidate compliance.
  • Collaborate with the Compliance Manager and Compliance Team to support clearances and onboarding of new workers.


OTHER

Salary: £38,500 to 45,000 per annum, depending on experience, with an exceptional bonus structure.


Job Type: Full-time, Permanent.


Schedule: 8:30am to 5:30pm. Monday to Friday.


Location: HG Group Office, St James House, 27-43 Eastern Road, Romford, RM1 3NH.
