Job Description

This role will be working with derivative processing oversight as well as a cross over into the derivative lifecycle including collateral management. Whilst this role works on a global basis, you will be managing a team of 10, plus our external partners.

What you'll be doing:

  • Being accountable for all components of the Middle Office derivatives activities (incl. Derivative trade management, Derivative lifecycle management including collateral management, OTC management, Private Credit servicing and Securities Lending oversight) as part of retained and or outsourced services globally in line with market, regulatory and internal deadlines
  • Proactively overseeing and managing the service of the outsourced provider, ensuring the service meets the agreed global service standards (incl. accuracy, timeliness, and client services measures).
  • Engaging and supporting the outsource provider with agreed retained services delivery for respective service area
  • Proactively evaluating service performance of retained and outsourced teams using the daily and weekly service delivery KPI / KRIs and take appropriate action accordingly
  • Taking the lead in all matters with regards to the management of employees, making sure management discretion is used in a consistent manner, and that the area follows the Group’s policies and procedures including the Partnership Agreement to maximize business performance. Strive for excellence in data delivery, displaying an empathic leadership style, leading by example, and using this to coach and support a team expected to deliver high standards
  • Ensuring strategic and operational risks and issues are identified, prioritised, assessed and mitigated within function and outsourced provider. Ensure senior stakeholders are briefed, updated and where appropriate enrolled in the management and control of key risks
  • Developing and refining quality processes that promote data integrity within the business with particular focus on continuous improvements to drive the development of the outsource model (focus on enhancing control effectiveness and efficiency)
  • Proactively engaging secondary service recipients (Client Service, Investments, and other Operational Teams) to ensure the service delivery is achieving standards for today and future business levels
  • Working in partnership and inclusive with Head of Department, Senior Managers/Peers and outsource provider to develop strategy and processes for managing middle office retained and outsourced activities. Partner with teams globally to align on best practises. Improve data delivery efficiency and accuracy. Utilise analytics to drive data optimisation. Develop and refine quality processes that promote data integrity within the business



Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience of the asset management industry/experience relevant to role
  • Extensive knowledge in the outsourced service area covering operational service delivery knowledge and client expectations
  • Industry awareness of the outsourced service area and regulations governing it
  • Experience in managing and overseeing 3rd party relationship service delivery
  • Excellent presentation, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to relay information clearly and concisely in both written and verbal communications
  • Ability to plan strategically & articulate messages to a variety of audiences.
  • Continue professional development to keep abreast of emerging technologies, methods & best practices
  • Lead from the front to drive delivery, whilst sustaining the provision of analytical rigor without getting overly caught up in the detail
  • Experience of managing multiple initiatives/projects within a complex professional environment and delivering demonstrable business benefits
  • Must have the ability to work in a fast-moving management environment with many often-conflicting demands
  • Ability to influence change in a positive manner
