  • Selection and integration of various components, and lead equipment specification work internally and externally with suppliers.
  • Create detailed equipment specification documents using appropriate technical language.
  • Be able to allocate, track, and manage work package delivery within budget and agreed timescales.
  • Continuously develop best practices and help implement solutions with the existing team to increase production rates, drive up efficiency, reduce manufacturing cost, increase product quality, and ensure equipment uptime.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • A relevant BSc/BEng degree or above in science or engineering.
  • A minimum of 5-8 years’ experience in designing and building special purpose machinery.
  • Proven knowledge in special purpose machinery development, preferably with an understanding on implementation of industrial scale process solutions.
  • Previous experience working with Mechanical & Electrical CAD packages and familiarity with PLC programming is essential
  • Very strong written and verbal communication skills, must be a team player with strong interpersonal skills
  • Exposure to an R&D environment, with experience of taking process ideas from concept to implementation.
  • Have demonstrated history of flexibility, self-motivation, and willingness to learn.
  • Familiarity with applicable engineering standards, SOPs, H&S regulations and the CE/UKCA marking process.
