We are looking for a Compliance and Governance Manager to support with policy and governance, in line with the organisation strategy. You’ll be working closely with senior management and the board, involved in some high-profile projects. This role will initially be for 6 months, with the potential to be extended or become permanent.

Job

The role of Compliance and Governance Manager will give you the opportunity to be involved with the following:


  • Championing good governance and developing the organisation’s compliance approach
  • Lead on the incremental implementation of a new external governance framework across network
  • Working with the Board and senior leadership team to ensure support for governance is compliant, effective and contributes towards strategic priorities
  • Taking the lead on projects and owning the governance and compliance function
  • Conducting comprehensive reviews and evaluations of the charity's policies, governance structures, and compliance procedures
  • Identifying areas for improvement and recommending actionable solutions to enhance organisational performance and adherence to regulatory standards
  • Supporting the Chief Executive Officer, Senior Leadership Team and Board of Trustees to ensure excellent governance of the organisation
  • Promoting and encouraging a culture of responsibility for compliance
  • Providing advice and guidance on technical issues that relate to governance and compliance matters
  • Highlighting key risk to the Board and senior leadership team as deemed appropriate, providing updates on changes and progress
  • Developing a code of practice, in addition to record management and communication methods that are fit for purpose and maintain confidentiality.
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders in and outside of the organisation
  • Working on a number of exciting projects to help the organisation achieve its vision, mission and values


You

As Compliance and Governance Manager you will be skilled &/or qualified in the following:


  • Knowledge and understanding of charity governance, structures, policy and practice
  • Evidence of CPD in relevant governance related training
  • Project management experience
  • High level communication and IT skills
  • Interpersonal/relationship building/stakeholder engagement skills
  • Influencing senior leaders and decision makers
  • Managing and making decisions independently
  • Ability to respect and observe confidentiality at the highest level
