London, UK, United Kingdom SOCIETE GENERALE Full time
We are seeking a Trainee to join our European Leveraged Syndicate team at Societe Generale. Leveraged Syndicate is responsible for the pricing, underwriting and syndication of leveraged loans and high yield bonds across the EMEA region. The team works closely with origination business lines, for Private Equity-backed deals and non-investment grade corporates, as well as partnering with the leveraged syndicate team in the US. As a Trainee, you will support senior members of the team in underwriting, structuring and executing Societe Generale's leveraged transactions in EMEA. You will provide support on both analytical and presentational work, produce reliable and accurate market data and comparable analysis, assist senior colleagues, and promote integrated financing solutions via the preparation of materials for the Leveraged Capital Markets teams. You will help to prepare presentations and assist in the creation of syndication and road-show materials. Whilst working directly for the team, you will have a mentor whose responsibility it is to ensure you are learning about all aspects of the business on an ongoing basis.

Profile required

The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate a good basic knowledge of and interest in financial markets, macroeconomics and related geopolitical events. You should have excellent time management skills as the role involves multi-tasking, prioritising and meeting tight deadlines. You should have an excellent level of written and verbal English - additional languages are advantageous but not essential. A high level of accuracy and attention to detail is required. You should be willing to ask questions and learn new skills. Excellent communication and presentational skills are a must, as is the ability to be adaptable and flexible and work well as part of a diverse team in a busy office environment. Good working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required. This is a fantastic opportunity for the right person to grow professionally and be allowed to take on additional responsibilities.
