Position Summary: Scoff Meals is seeking a passionate and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. As a Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, and helping to oversee daily kitchen operations. Your expertise and creativity will contribute to the development and execution of our diverse menu, maintaining our reputation for excellence.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head Chef in planning and directing food preparation and culinary activities.
  • Supervise kitchen staff, ensuring efficient operation and adherence to recipes and standards.
  • Prepare and cook high-quality dishes, maintaining consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control.
  • Monitor and manage inventory, ensuring freshness and availability of ingredients.
  • Enforce strict health and hygiene standards in the kitchen.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop new menu items and improve existing ones.
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Ensure that all kitchen equipment is maintained and operated safely and efficiently.
  • Assist in scheduling kitchen staff and managing labor costs within budget.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and sanitation.
  • Flexibility to work the specified hours: Wednesday to Saturday, 7 AM - 4 PM. (Thursday 6pm finish)
