Role Summary:

As an IT Field Engineer, you'll be the go-to expert ensuring our IT infrastructure runs smoothly across our Vehicle repair centres in the South West region. This role involves hands-on troubleshooting, system maintenance, and occasional project work at various locations 5 days a week. Your expertise will help keep our technology systems efficient, enabling our teams to deliver outstanding service. A knack for problem-solving, strong communication skills, and a commitment to customer service are essential.



Core Responsibilities:

  • System Maintenance: Ensure IT systems are operating optimally, meeting SLAs, and driving colleague satisfaction.
  • Technical Support: Diagnose, repair, and install IT systems, providing expert support across various technologies.
  • Project Collaboration: Work with the broader team on larger IT installations and service projects.
  • First-Time Fixes: Achieve high levels of first-time resolutions through deep product knowledge and effective problem-solving.
  • Strategic Implementation: Align your daily tasks with the company's strategic objectives, ensuring IT solutions support our growth.
  • Customer Interaction: Provide top-tier organisational and communication skills in every customer-facing situation.
  • Task Execution: Complete tasks quickly and efficiently, following company procedures and maintaining a professional image.
  • Issue Resolution: Handle colleague queries with professionalism, collaborating with Support Administration and third parties as needed.
  • Adaptability: Flexibly manage tasks in a fast-paced environment, with occasional work outside normal hours.
  • Site Audits & Compliance: Conduct site audits and health and safety checks as required, including travel and overnight stays.


Qualifications and Skills:

  • A-Level in technology or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience as a field engineer, preferably in a fast-paced industry.
  • Strong focus on delivering excellent customer service, with experience in industries like automotive, hospitality, retail, or logistics.
  • Familiarity with ITIL, PCs, printers, communication equipment, and networking.
  • Expertise in Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint). MS365 and Microsoft Entra knowledge is a plus.
  • Full driving license and own vehicle - essential.
  • Experience with VoIP deployment is advantageous.
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks efficiently, with excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Strong team player, capable of building effective working relationships across various functions.
  • Phenomenal Communication and customer facing skills with patience and the ability to translate technical jargon to non technical people
  • Networking and Microsoft qualifications (e.g., MCP, CCIE) are desirable.
  • Familiarity with automotive repair systems (Autoflow, Audatex) is an advantage.
  • Experience in the automotive or similar fast-paced industries is highly valued.
