The focus on Fleet Performance and the need to improve it has never been more intense. Reporting to the Head of Engineering, the Fleet Performance Engineer pays a critical part in supporting the Fleet team to significantly improve the consistency of its delivery of rolling stock to the Company's customers every day. Working closely with all maintenance suppliers the Fleet Performance Engineer manages the interface between Fleet and the Company's performance community . Monitoring reliability trends and investigating all in service- delays and incidents for all our Fleets and managing Fleet 's initial review of those incidents. Performing initial interrogation of incidents to ensure appropriate attribution of either internally or externally and to be able to provide robust challenge as required. This requires the consolidation of information to support root cause and deeper analysis of the causes with the relevant stakeholders.

The Fleet Performance Engineer is also the custodian of the Fleet Performance Management System, responsible for its diligent maintenance developing improvement plans and proposals based on root cause analysis and forecasted improvements. Working within the Fleet Engineering team, the Fleet Performance Engineer provides expert analytical data support to the Fleet team in respect of the full range of Fleet Quality and Performance metrics and results. Looking for opportunities to improve reliability and diagnostics and prognostics of the fleet through remote condition monitoring techniques. Producing daily weekly and periodic reports on Fleet's performance to the business at all levels. Collaborating with other TOCs via RDG to share best practices & establish methods of implementation. The role would suit someone who has progressed in their career post graduation, or relevant industry experience. We would be supportive of someone working towards chartership or other professional development.
