The Role:
As the Content Lead you will be proven wordsmith with a proven talent for developing best-in-class copy and managing the application of visual content. We’re on the hunt for someone who can think critically and strategically about our approach to the written word. As content lead, you’ll have responsibility for all copy produced for our marketing activations, product content, and external comms.
What will you do?
Content Strategy:
- Creating key messaging to bolster and optimise commercial campaigns across the entire marketing mix
- Leading the content approach across one of our group brands, taking responsibility for messaging consistency
- Understanding and maintaining consistent tone of voice across all written content
- Work with offshore content editors, to brief, review, edit and guide content output.
Copywriting and Content Delivery:
• Writing cornerstone campaign copy to guide and direct the roll out of marketing campaigns
• Writing short-form commercial content for a range of marketing channels, including eCRM, direct mail, PPC and SEO
• Writing long-form editorial content to drive forward marketing efforts and commercial campaigns
• Writing long and short-form copy for product efficiency and conversion rate optimisation
• Updating and uploading content to the product CMS (Wordpress and Magnolia)
• Sourcing assets and imagery for web use and to support content, including basic editing
• Writing support copy for customer communications
Management:
• Owning the maintenance and delivery of a content roadmap aligned to the brand goals and commercial objectives
• Taking briefs and writing autonomously, working with stakeholders to understand commercial and customer objectives
• Receiving feedback and making amends to content efficiently and effectively
• Managing cross-departmental sign off process and stakeholder alignment
• Leading content projects across one of our group brands, ensuring timely delivery and efficient stakeholder liaison
Essentials:
- B2C copywriting experience
- An impeccable understanding of grammar and style
- A portfolio of copywriting across the entire marketing mix and product lifecycle which demonstrates creativity, imagination and flare
- Understanding and expertise in tone of voice, and a good working knowledge of how to develop TOV
- Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Detailed product content knowledge, including experience using CMS systems (ideally Wordpress and Magnolia) and minimally, a basic understanding and use of HTML
Bonus skills you may pack in your suitcase:
- Experience within the insurance industry (if you’ve worked in travel, even better) or similar sector experience, although an eagerness to improve your knowledge of our industry will bode well.
