You will be part of a small, dedicated team of four, working closely with the Risk and Compliance Manager. The firm offers excellent training and career development, with the chance to learn from some of the best in the industry.


In this role, you will assist with KYC checks and ensure the firm complies with regulations relating to money laundering, the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002, the Terrorism Act 2000, and other relevant legislation. You will also be responsible for reviewing new clients and matter requests, ensuring they meet the firm’s verification and acceptance standards, including checking for issues related to money laundering, client creditworthiness, and compliance with other internal procedures.


A key responsibility will be preparing reports for the firm's Reputation and Risk Committee, mainly focusing on high-risk clients and matters. Therefore, previous exposure to these issues and demonstrating a solid understanding of risk is essential. As needed, you will also assist the Risk and Compliance Manager with broader compliance and regulatory issues.


The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in AML and compliance, ideally within the legal sector. You should be confident in running conflict searches, analysing potential issues, and maintaining high attention to detail. You will be calm under pressure, able to work to tight deadlines and bring a proactive, professional attitude.


Requirements:

- 2:1 degree with strong A-levels and GCSEs (particularly in Maths and English).

- 2-4 years of experience working in a busy AML role within a law firm.

- Strong knowledge of AML requirements and compliance.

- Experience running conflict searches and handling client verification processes.
