Upstream Process Development Scientist

Location - Oxfordshire

Sector - Antibody Production

Salary - Competitive (dependent on experience)

Our client is a leading supplier and manufacturer for the Life Science and clinical diagnostic markets. They are now seeking an experienced Upstream Scientist to join the manufacturing and production unit, supporting with continual improvement of raw material cultures.

The role:

The main responsibilities of this role include:

  • Continuous improvement and process development of raw material cultures
  • Running projects to assess scale-up repeatability and reproducibility
  • Support in manufacture and batch release of raw materials
  • Troubleshoot and solve process problems
  • Ensure compliance with ISO9001 for manufacturing documentation and product release.

The requirements:

Suitable applicants will have prior experience with:

  • Mammalian cell culture experience, gained within industry
  • Experience with process development in antibody manufacture/production
  • Thorough knowledge of quality systems - ISO 9001, GMP or similar.
  • Experience with bioreactors and clone optimization (ideally Ambr250)
  • Experience running projects and delivering company goals.
  • Able to troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis on processes.
  • BSc/MSc qualified (or equivalent industry experience) in a Life Science discipline.
