Salary: From £45,628 – depending on skills and experience



What you’ll be doing:



  • Monitoring and governing the competence of the Welding & Caulking workforce.
  • Guiding and informing Functional Long Terms Skills Analysis and the associated proposed supply solutions in support of Workforce Plan (LTSAWP)
  • Supporting the development of appropriate plans to deliver future functional technical SQEP in line with programme demands, succession planning and transformational change
  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of the functional career frameworks and role profiles to enable capability development
  • Monitoring and coordinating training courses, SQEP assessments and developing Training Statement of Requirements and short term emerging interventions.
  • Managing NSQEP for those roles on Nuclear Baseline including development of nuclear safety roles & responsibilities, skills and competence requirements in conjunction with SMEs as required and support the provision on NSQEP evidence into skills toolsets
  • Collating of data and tracking of any changes on behalf of the function, to enable adequate capacity assessments to be undertaken across facilities and programmes to accommodate short and long term resource demand
  • Monitoring process improvements, LfE projects and technology insertion to ensure associated training and implementation is delivered.
  • Undertaking robust business scenario testing to provide the function with clarity around the impact of critical changes to enable mitigation, risk and opportunity management strategies to be developed

Your skills and experiences:


Essential



  • Recognised trade background related to their Discipline (Pipe Welder, Structural Welder etc)
  • Good awareness of manufacturing technologies and techniques across Steelwork discipline.
  • A solid understanding and implementation of Continuous Improvement
  • Strong Analytical skills – data / analytics / reporting. Along with good level IT Skills (Microsoft Office Packages, Success Factors, SAP etc.)
  • The Ability to train, Coach and develop trades & team leaders related to their Discipline (Pipe Welder, Structural Welder etc)

Desirable



  • Communication across a range of stakeholders from Apprentices to Director level, including preparation and delivery of presentations
  • An Understanding/Relevant Experience of resource management
  • Experience and understanding of managing Projects, ideally in a similar business (Large Scale Production)
