Our client is a leading trading firm based in London, looking to expand their Trade Operations by adding a Trading Systems Engineer. The successful candidate will be in charge of managing the firm’s live trading environment, specifically, one of the top electronic trading platforms worldwide.


They are seeking someone able to work in a high-performance environment, ready to cover their systems infrastructure, risk management and performance improvement, among others.


Must be experienced working on and around low-latency, high-frequency trading systems.


Responsibilities


  • Act as the first line of support covering the European hours
  • Manage order flow from the front office trading desks
  • Respond to market alerts and outages
  • Collaborate with third parties and exchanges to support trading
  • Use scripting knowledge to automate tasks (Python, Bash or Perl)


Requirements


  • Degree in Computer Science or related field, plus 3+ years of experience in the hedge fund space.
  • Experience working with low-latency, high-frequency systems obligatory.
  • Proven track record working on Linux/Unix systems, knowledge of shell scripting.
  • Python for automation purposes and coding.
  • Strong communication skills (interfacing with clients, external and internal)
  • High attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Knowledge of Market Data/Order Entry systems and an interest in electronic trading
