Workshop Duty Manager

We're seeking a motivated Workshop Duty Manager to join our team at Heathrow Airport. In this role, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Ramp & Recovery services, delivering exceptional customer service while maintaining the highest safety standards.


What You'll Do:

  • Oversee all Breakdown, Recovery, and Preventative Maintenance operations, ensuring adherence to HAL airside regulations.
  • Champion safety for all staff, both airside and landside, by proactively identifying and mitigating risks.
  • Lead a team of technicians, providing effective performance management, training, and development.
  • Prioritize resources effectively, allocating tasks to meet customer demands and SLAs.
  • Manage parts inventory, ensuring cost-effectiveness and timely completion of work orders.
  • Drive team productivity and continuous improvement through data analysis and problem-solving.
  • Build strong relationships with customers and stakeholders, fostering collaboration.
  • Deputize for the Operations Manager as needed.


The Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven experience in a similar leadership role within a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to health and safety regulations and best practices.
  • GSE Experience (Ground Support Equipment).
  • Motor mechanics experience with LGV & heavy vehicles (desirable).
  • Qualification in health and safety like IOSH/NEBOSH (desirable).
  • Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) qualification (desirable).
  • HGV & PSV license (desirable).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Experience in managing and motivating a team.
  • Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
