Core Responsibilities

  • UI/UX Design Development: Lead the design process for Pointr's mobile and web SDKs as well as the CMS dashboard. This includes creating wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs, and ensuring a consistent and intuitive user experience across all platforms.
  • Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand technical requirements and business objectives. Ensure that design solutions are feasible and align with the overall product strategy.
  • Design System Management: Utilize and contribute to the existing design system, ensuring consistency in design language across all products. Adapt designs to evolving brand guidelines and maintain design coherence.
  • User Research and Testing: Conduct user research to gather insights into user needs and behaviors. Implement usability testing to validate design concepts and make data-driven decisions for design improvements.
  • Problem-Solving and Innovation: Apply strong problem-solving skills to address design challenges, particularly in enhancing the usability of the mobile/web SDK and CMS dashboard. Innovate within the scope of Pointr's technology to improve user experience.
  • Feedback Integration: Regularly review user feedback and analytics to identify areas for design improvement. Iterate designs based on this feedback to enhance user satisfaction and engagement.
  • Documentation and Communication: Document design processes and decisions clearly. Communicate design concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical team members.
  • Staying Informed and Educated: Keep up-to-date with the latest trends in UI/UX design, technology, and location-based services. Continuously seek to improve skills and knowledge relevant to the role.
  • Accessibility and Inclusivity: Ensure that all designs are accessible and inclusive, catering to a diverse user base with varying needs.
  • Quality Assurance: Work with the development team to ensure that the implementation of designs is consistent with the prototypes and design specifications.

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 3-5 years of professional experience in product design, specifically in UI/UX design for mobile and web applications. Experience in working with design systems and adapting designs to established brand guidelines.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, User Experience Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field. Equivalent professional experience may also be considered.
  • Proficiency in UI/UX Design Tools: Expertise in using design and prototyping tools such as Figma. Ability to create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs.
  • Understanding of Design Systems: Strong knowledge of design systems and ability to work within an established design language, ensuring consistency across various platforms.
  • Basic Front-End Development Knowledge: Familiarity with front-end development technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. This is essential for understanding the technical constraints and possibilities when designing for web and mobile applications.
  • Responsive and Adaptive Design: Skills in designing interfaces that work seamlessly across different devices and screen sizes, understanding the principles of responsive and adaptive design.
  • Data Visualization: Ability to design clear and effective data visualizations and dashboards, particularly for the CMS component.
  • User Research and Testing: Competence in conducting user research, creating user personas, and performing usability testing to inform design decisions.
  • Accessibility Standards: Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices to ensure that designs are inclusive and accessible to all users.
  • Version Control Systems: Familiarity with version control systems like Git can be beneficial, especially for collaboration in a tech-focused environment.
  • Demonstrated skill in identifying design problems and coming up with creative, user-centered solutions. Ability to approach challenges with a positive mindset and find innovative solutions.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements, new technologies, and evolving design trends. Willingness to learn and adjust to new challenges in a dynamic work environment.
  • Proficiency in managing multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines, and prioritizing tasks effectively. Organizational skills to keep projects on track and documentation well-maintained.

  • Skilled at working effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and other stakeholders. Ability to collaborate, share ideas, and integrate feedback into the design process.
  • Capacity for critical analysis and evaluation of design decisions based on user feedback, analytics, and best practices. Willingness to question assumptions and validate ideas through research and testing.
