We are looking for a Senior Commercial Manager based out of our M40 operations base in Banbury. You will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of a consistent and high-quality commercial service which will cover, budget management, commercial management, performance management and contract administration.


Base Location: Banbury but travel to various sites along the M40


Working Pattern: Permanent


What you’ll be leading on

  • Lead the commercial and contract management of schemes/contracts and ensure that all works/services are managed in line with the contracts or frameworks being used.
  • Line management responsibility for the commercial team
  • Provide commercial support across a range of activities, aiding decision-making on commercial efficiencies, acting as a source of authoritative advice on contract administration, cost capture, analysis, performance, related intelligence and opportunities for performance improvement.
  • Proficient in claims, compensation and dispute management in line with the contract/framework.
  • Drive any new procurements supported by Procurement and undertake contract document review and tender assessments.
  • Continuous analysis and review of contract and contractor performance including cost performance to identify and implement improvements.


To be successful you’ll need


  • Experience in leading and managing commercial teams
  • Proven ability to contribute to, and communicate programme and organisational aims to align efforts and deliver outcomes.
  • Demonstrable experience in optimising value-for-money outcomes.
  • Experience in procurement and commercial management
  • Proven track record of working with a diverse range of stakeholders.


Relevant professional qualification, RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) or relevant Degree qualified.
