About the Role

The Capital Delivery Programme Leader is responsible for overseeing the delivery of a wide range of projects, including minor works, asset replacement, and renovations. It will be your responsibility to ensure that all projects within the Capital Delivery Programme are completed on time, within budget, and meet the specified quality standards. By doing so, you will enhance the company’s asset base, ensuring it meets the operational needs in terms of performance, functionality, aesthetics, and reliability.

Your Responsibilities

  • Actively contribute to the European business's strategic objectives and long-term plans by providing insight on Estates and CapEx planning.
  • Provide inspirational leadership within the Estates Leadership Team, ensuring effective engagement and consistently high service delivery across the estate.
  • Assist in developing and delivering the overall business plan, including the Capital Delivery Expenditure (CapEx) plan, ensuring adherence to time, budget, and quality standards.
  • Set and manage departmental budgets in collaboration with the finance team, ensuring all operational costs align with financial targets.
  • Provide transparency on progress and financial performance against the plan to stakeholders, maintaining visibility of risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Lead and manage project teams responsible for delivering facilities and property-related activities, ensuring all works are delivered within scope, budget, and timeline while meeting quality expectations.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive change management plan, focusing on stakeholder engagement, successful delivery, and minimisation of disruption to business operations.
  • Ensure strong governance and accountability for all projects, proactively managing risks, issues, and dependencies, and escalating challenges to Project Boards as needed.
  • Manage and maintain constructive relationships with internal stakeholders, contractors, clients, customers, and colleagues to drive engagement and ensure business change culture is embedded.
  • Provide regular updates to tactical (project boards) and strategic (SteerCo) levels, ensuring all parties are informed about project progress, risks, and decisions.
  • Ensure the Capital Programme Delivery team is equipped with the necessary skills and competencies through targeted training programs, fostering a strong service-oriented ethos.
  • Engage third-party contractors and service providers effectively, ensuring competitiveness and value for money while achieving operational synergies across the estate.
  • Comprehensive business cases to apply for CapEx, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and clear justification for investment.
  • Identify and track benefits throughout the benefit realisation process, ensuring measurable outcomes and successful delivery of objectives.
  • and manage the lifecycle of each project, ensuring key business milestones are met, dependencies are tracked, and a smooth implementation


Key Skills and Experience


  • Proven leadership in managing multi-site capital projects.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building at all levels.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and meeting facilitation skills.
  • Ability to define project scope, track progress, and report performance.
  • Experience with data analysis to assess project outcomes post-completion.
  • Accredited in Project Management or Lean Six Sigma (e.g., PRINCE2, PMQ, APM).
