Stores Controller

A vacancy has arisen for an experienced motor trade Stores Controller to primarily work in our central workshops in Cardiff, with oversight of the stores at our depot in Swansea.


The successful applicant will need to act responsibly as a team member in the execution of stores tasks associated with materials receipt, flow and supply to internal and external customers.


The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate:


  • Inventory control and related processes.
  • Checking of goods receipts, issued stock and despatch loads for accuracy.
  • Housekeeping and health and safety practice compliance in associated areas.
  • Support in the implementation and sustainment of VMS system


Previous stores / warehouse experience is highly desirable for this post, along with the following skills:


  • Good dexterity with the ability to handle a variety of parts including sheet metal, machined and electrical components.·
  • Good organisational skills.·
  • Good verbal and written communication skills and computor literacy.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in a constantly changing environment.
  • Counterbalance forklift licence (or the ability to train for one)


Travel between Cardiff and Swansea will occasionally be required, although a company pool car is available for this purpose. As such, a car driving licence with no more than 6 points is required.


Salary: Circa £30k + Pension + Flexible hours available
