A newly created opportunity for a strategic, experienced Head of Supply Chain, who will be responsible for leading procurement activities and supply chain relationships across the OCU Group, this is a senior opportunity to lead a strategic approach to the procurement of direct and indirect goods/services, leveraging scale opportunities presented by the rapid growth of the group and integration of acquired businesses.

Based at the newly refurbished head office in Stockport, the Group Head of Supply Chain will be responsible for:


Responsibilities

  • Leading procurement activities and supply chain relationships across the OCU Group.
  • Developing a strategic approach to the procurement of direct and indirect goods/services, leveraging scale opportunities presented by the rapid growth of the group and integration of acquired businesses.
  • Further develop and communicate the procurement business plan; establish, communicate and implement long-term goals for the department in order to promote effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Consolidate disparate procurement activities and teams into a unified Group function and develop consistent, efficient and scalable policies and processes to effectively support the business. Lead on the integration of procurement activities of newly acquired businesses.
  • Build and maintain key supplier relationships and lead on the identification, delivery and reporting of procurement savings following the review and consolidation of the Group’s supply chain.
  • Support the ongoing implementation of the new MS Dynamics finance system to ensure P2P related processes are more automated and system level controls are robust. Develop key value add MI including supplier spend analysis.
  • Work closely with the P&T team to support the strategic procurement of plant and equipment
  • Develop, communicate and administer procurement team performance and development plans and appraisals.
  • Partner with the wider Exec team and operational leads regarding procurement activities to ensure key supplies are procured by the team when needed enabling the efficient delivery of our services to Clients.
  • Serve as the primary contact for procurement related questions, training, policy and procedure interpretation and alignment by all departments.


Experience required

  • Self-driven individual with proven ability to work in a high-growth fast-paced environment and navigates well in a multi-site, shared services organization
  • Outstanding team building and leadership skills with a proven record in building and managing procurement functions
  • Proven ability to implement system and process changes to drive the effectiveness and development of the procurement function
  • Proven record in identifying and delivering efficiencies and cost savings from a growing supply chain
  • Excellent communication skills - this person will interact across all levels of the business, including Board level and senior operational and commercial leaders
  • Industry experience would be helpful, Construction, Civil Engineering, Utilities sector experience as would experience of MS dynamics or similar ERP systems
