As the Senior Mechanical Engineer (Cranes), your role is essential in the communications between the onshore and offshore Maintenance and Operations teams, ensuring the Anasuria FPSO delivers against annual Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) pertaining to safety, the environment and operational uptime of the asset's crane fleet.


Role and Responsibilities:


Health, Safety and Environment

· Ensure equipment operations, projects and engineering modifications are conducted in an effective and safe manner in compliance with Company, industry, and regulative requirements.

· Support delivery of safety, integrity, and environmental performance of the operated and non-operated assets.

· Driving reduction of greenhouse gas emissions through implementing optimisation initiatives, and identifying potential plant modifications in line with AOC’s “Net Zero Policy”.

· Ensure highly visible and effective HSSE leadership and performance.

· Ensuring any Technical & Engineering modifications encompass latest HSEQ legislation and compliance.


Strategic Priorities

· Provide technical equipment knowledge and experience input to company strategy.

· Establish and maintain effective equipment management techniques to ensure efficient and cost, efficient production delivery in support of company strategy.

· Establish and maintain effective engineering and project processes to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery in support of company strategy.

· Lead project implementation in support and delivery of company strategy.

· Promote industry best practices and new technology being applied.

· Work with other Functions to develop and strengthen relationships and technical linkage with Department Heads and Key Contractors.

· Contribute to the development of the operational improvement plan by identifying equipment and maintenance improvement opportunities, lead implementation within scope and measure improvements.


Asset Responsibilities

· Responsible for ensuring the FPSOs 4 x cranes are maintained correctly and meet the requirements of the company standards/assurance.

· Ensuring reliability and availability of the assets cranes including associated sparing requirements.

· Ensuring all SECE maintenance in relation to cranes is prioritised and planned according, preventing backlog maintenance.

· Ownership for planning all crane maintenance and ensuring gate criteria is met.

· Ensure uptime/reliability/availability of the cranes is understood and the current maintenance regime supports this.

· Responsible for technical/equipment report writing and reviewing/approving vendor quotes/reports.

· Responsible for coordinating and acting as a focal point for Crane vendors, whilst completing the cranes planned maintenance and projects scopes with the right quality and agreed timeline where practicable.

· Deliver and sustain clear, challenging objectives for operational improvements and efficiencies.

· Focus on maximising operational availability by identifying optimisation opportunities through equipment condition based monitoring and troubleshooting plant upsets in a timely manner.

· Contributes to the annual budget, ensuring any projects/modifications are budgeted for and approved.

· Ensuring any Technical, Engineering & Operations changes are identified and communicated through the organisation.

· Ensuring a robust Management of Change (MOC) process is followed in all Technical, Engineering & Operations modifications.

· Responsible for Technical review/input of Crane Operational procedures/processes, Maintenance deferrals and Operations Risk Assessments (ORAs) within discipline as appropriate.

· Ensures Technical, Engineering & Operations changes have followed the HAZOP/HAZIP process.

· Ensure that production, engineering, and project best practice is promoted and apply lessons learned as part of a learning organisation.

Competence Requirements & Skills:


Education & Associations

· Mechanical Engineering qualified with a strong bias on hydraulic and engine maintenance

· LOLER qualified or a high proven level of crane technical regulations/standards knowledge

· Chartered status preferred or working towards chartership

· Member of recognised Engineering Institute


Additional Requirements

· Considerable experience working in an equipment package engineering and/or crane projects delivery company

· Having held a crane support role or similar technical experience in a field service position

· BOSIET, MIST & Offshore Medical.
