The HRBP is responsible for the consistent implementation of Group and Division HR strategies, and for leading the delivery of key functional programs such as employee engagement, succession planning, staffing, talent/leadership development, talent acquisition, compensation, health and wellness, performance management, and training and development.


Assists in providing strategic human resources business partner services for the Commercial teams in EMEA and APAC. Plan, develop and implement global HR initiatives in support of strategic business goals. Influence effective decision making and drive organizational growth.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and drive the Strategic Workforce Plan for the Commercial activity and support the execution of the HR strategy in close collaboration with the Commercial Senior Leadership team, and by staying true to the guiding principles and values of the company.
  • Act as a trusted advisor of senior managers and leaders of the Commercial team. Build the business partner relationship with management and key staff. Understand the business, goals, challenge and help to address systemic issues. Provide continuous coaching and guidance regarding organizational issues, conduct appropriate diagnostics and advise on solutions.
  • In conjunction with Global HR leadership, responsible for supporting the Commercial teams with talent development in their organizations, including assessment, selection, coaching and mentoring.
  • Ensure succession planning and employee development plans are implemented and followed for the leaders of the business area, and for any business critical technical leadership roles.
  • Translate business requirements into a long-term strategy that addresses uncertainties related to future needs. Develop a coherent and persuasive strategy and can build a compelling business case for major initiatives.
  • Partner with HR Group functions (e.g., Talent Acquisition, Rewards …) as well as with the HR People Operations network to ensure client groups receive the necessary services, support and communications from these HR functions.
  • Envision and implement large-scale transformation, making the business case for change and leading the change initiatives. Understands and manages the resulting complexity.
  • Pro-active development and marketing of Smiths employer brand and/or programs that attract and retain high potential talent. Help create signature practices that are unique and highly representative of our brand values.
  • Adept use of metrics to align with specific business outcomes. Provide defined metrics for measuring effectiveness of HR programs in driving organizational performance and containing costs.
  • Engage others, promote, and participate in various HR initiatives and projects, focusing on continuous improvement.
  • This position is required to ensure compliance of Company operations to all applicable laws, regulations and standards, good business practices and company documented procedures (including but not limited to Code of Business Ethics, Quality Systems Regulations, government occupational health and environmental regulations and statutes).




Technical Knowledge and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (HR Masters or MBA with HR specialization highly preferred)
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible HR experience
  • Related manufacturing industry experience preferred
  • Successful track record as an HR generalist with involvement in organization design and development, employee resourcing/ talent acquisition, change management, employee relations, compensation and benefits, employment, and employee training and development
  • Previous leadership experience in a global business
  • Preferred experience working with global and/or highly matrixed organizations and teams
  • Strategic design/ change management experience
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing change initiatives
  • Excellent coaching, consulting and facilitation skills
  • Languages: fluent English, the command of other languages is an advantage

  • Collaborative decision making with Senior Commercial Leadership Team and HR executives.
  • Ensures that overall change management programs, schedules, and performance standards are realistically set and attained.


Impact and Scope:

  • Decisions can affect the financial, employee, or public relations posture of the company.
  • Erroneous decisions or recommendations would result in failure to achieve major goals and objectives of the organization.
  • Interacts with Band 2 & 3 management within the respective region concerning matters of significance to the company.


Key Internal and External Relationships:

  • Will interface internally with all levels of company structure
  • Will interface with representatives of outside agencies or companies such as recruitment agencies, legal firms etc.
  • Will interface regularly with Group HR Functions and regional People Operations teams.
