The Role

As an Employee Relations (ER) Specialist, you will report to the Employee Relations Manager and provide expert advice, tools, and guidance on various ER issues. You will support generalists, other HR teams, and business areas, delivering high-quality professional advice on employee relations, people policies, and formal processes.


Responsibilities

  • Provide pragmatic case management and advice on ER issues, including probation, performance, sickness absence management, disciplinary issues, grievances, and more.
  • Assist ER Managers in complex case meetings, organizational changes, DSARs, and tribunal claims.
  • Contribute to ER budget tasks and ER management information reporting to analyse trends.
  • Establish strong relationships with managers and partners, serving as the main ER contact for the HR team.
  • Support the ER Manager in developing and updating people policies in line with legislation and business objectives.
  • Develop guidance, documentation, and toolkits to enhance service quality.
  • Manage the ER inbox and provide regular updates to HR teams and business areas.
  • Participate in projects supporting business strategy.


Skills Required

  • Experience in ER case management in HR or ER roles.
  • Proficiency in supporting ER meetings, including notetaking and providing on-the-spot advice.
  • Experience with MI reporting and case management systems.
  • Solid knowledge of employment legislation and external best practices.
  • Ability to understand and influence senior stakeholders and escalate complex issues when necessary.
  • ER case management experience in a professional services environment.
  • CIPD qualification (ER-specific).
  • Experience in writing outcome letters, reports, and recommendations for senior stakeholders.
