Retail Manager, Brand Licensing

An opportunity for an experienced brand licensing Retail Manager to lead the UK retail strategy for a portfolio of children’s characters within a global organisation.
Joining a small and ambitious team, this role will take the lead in creating the best retail moments for the ranges of beautiful products across preschool and core childrens – these are iconic brands with huge appeal.
Building on the existing retail relationships and bringing your own ideas to establish new partners, you’ll be focused on UK retailers and working closely with a direct report managing E-Commerce. Using your knowledge of the retail landscape, you’ll negotiate and activate cross-category retail promotions that increase brand presence in stores.
So, what will you be doing?
- Your remit will cover retail brand development, pitching, and communication with UK retailers.
- Growing existing and identifying new retailers to work with.
- Securing cross category retail support at key seasonal and relevant trading periods.
- Maximising exposure through co-funded owned and earned marketing/media placement.
- Creating pitch materials for retail including bespoke brand decks
- Pitching cross-category initiatives to retailers working with the creative team and category leads on appropriate sell in materials.
- Being the main point of contact for retailers, providing timely updates on relevant brand licensing programmes.
- Creating relevant retailer update reports as well as reports and presentations for the business internally
What would we like you to bring?
- Strong knowledge of the retail and brand licensing industry; particularly key partners and relevant retailer buyers in the UK.
- Relevant previous experience could be within a brand licensing agency, retail buying, retail management for licensors or licensees.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to pitch brands to retail buyers to secure buy-in, additional space or cross-category opportunities.
- Experience of retail operations and an excellent knowledge of the UK retail landscape.
- Exceptional organisational and planning skills.
- Enthusiasm for people management and development, previous experience would be helpful but not essential.
- Knowledge of children’s brands can be learnt and isn’t required to be effective in the role.
- Willing to travel across the UK and occasionally internationally to relevant trade shows.
The company operates hybrid working with at least 3 days per week in their central London offices, and offers excellent benefits.
