Job title: Senior & Principal Radiation Physicist

Job Type: Permanent

Salary: Up to £65,000 Depending on experience

Location: Barrow-In-Furness

Hours of work: 37 hours per week


Applicants must have experience of the following:

- Relevant STEM degree

- Demonstrable experience of radiation transport codes (MCNP, MCBEND etc)

- Understanding of radiation physics

- Experience of radiation safety studies & behaviours

- Experience of radiation metrology


Ideally applicants should also have:

- Experience managing technical projects


Role information:

- Supervise and conduct analysis and experiments to support system qualification

- Support progression of design optimisation

- Produce and review radiological safety justifications for proposed design solutions

- Develop in-house toolsets to support project goals

- Lead the detailed design of radiological shielding

- Ensure build requirements are balanced alongside system performance requirements

- Provide subject matter expert advice when required
