As a Cyber Security Team Leader you will spearhead efforts to maintain the security and availability of clients' data, acting as the primary liaison for cyber security within the IT Department. Using advanced technical expertise and a commitment to customer service, the Cyber Security Team Leader will ensure a secure infrastructure for both company and customer data.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of the Cyber Security Team, including resource allocation, schedule management, quality reviews, and adherence to processes and procedures.
  • Develop and manage the security cloud migration process, identifying and addressing any gaps.
  • Manage the Cyber Security Incident process and the Incident Response Team, conducting training exercises to prepare for real incidents.
  • Proactively handle complaints and escalations, resolving issues before they escalate.
  • Act as the escalation point for security response incidents
  • Conduct one to one performance reviews with team members to support their development.
  • Maintain and enhance the security of IT services, coordinating with third parties for patching, vulnerability resolution, and system hardening.
  • Create and update security documentation to ensure consistent and effective support.
  • Collaborate with IT departments to secure infrastructure from new system implementations to ongoing maintenance and monitoring.
  • Serve as the stand-in for the Cyber Security Manager as needed.
  • Oversee forensic investigations and reporting after cyber incidents, involving third-party specialists when necessary.


Previous Experience:

  • Proven experience leading a technical security team.
  • Previous experience in designing and implementing a SOC.
  • Hands-on experience managing migration projects that include SOC integration.
  • Experience with Microsoft Sentinel.
  • Demonstrated history of planning, developing, and implementing security technologies, especially within Azure.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure and application technologies, including Server 2012+, ESX/VMware, Messaging (Exchange 2016+), IIS, SQL 2012+, Linux appliances, architecture and OS, backup technologies, Citrix, and Cisco networking.
  • Expertise in security technologies such as SIEM, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, anti-virus software, authentication systems, log management, and content filtering.
  • Solid grasp of security approaches including ISMS, risk analysis and assessments, the CIA triad, social engineering, cryptography, confidentiality issues, and incident response best practices.
  • Operate within an ITIL V3 and ISO27001 service delivery framework.
  • Manage relationships with stakeholders.
  • Work to meet defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting effectively at all levels.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications such as Security+, SSCP, CISP, CEH, CCNA, CCNA Security, OSCP, MCSE, or a computing/security-related BSc/MSc degree.
