Maintenance Engineer – 6-Month FTC
Northamptonshire
£56,607
4 on 4 off (2 days and 2 nights)
Let’s cut to the chase. You’re a hands-on, problem-solving Maintenance Engineer who knows how to keep machines running and breakdowns at bay. If you’re looking for a job where you’ll be sitting in an office all day, this isn’t it.
The site is a 24/7, highly automated operation. Things move fast there; keeping production running smoothly is no small task. That’s where you come in.
What you’ll be doing:
- Positive can-do attitude. A go-getter who is always looking to improve how things are done.
- Keeping machinery and equipment in tip-top shape.
- Handling breakdowns like a pro—quickly, calmly, and efficiently.
- Getting stuck into fault-finding and general maintenance (strip-downs, inspections, repairs).
- Carrying out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) with precision.
- Always thinking ahead—stocking parts and looking for ways to improve processes.
- Making sure health, safety, and cleanliness standards are never compromised.
What we’re looking for:
- HNC/HND or a recognised apprenticeship in mechanical or electrical engineering.
- A solid grasp of pneumatics and experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Calm under pressure, adaptable, and ready to tackle whatever the day throws.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- A team player who knows how to get things done and takes pride in their work.
This is a 6-month fixed-term contract with a chance of becoming permanent. We want to hear if you’re ready to roll up your sleeves and get to work.
