About The Role
As a Lifting Technician at Brandon Hire Station you will be a crucial member of our team, responsible for driving hire and sales revenue as well as maintaining, inspecting, and servicing lifting equipment to ensure its safety, reliability, and compliance with industry standards. You will play a vital role in supporting our customers' needs and contributing to the overall success of our company. We are looking to grow and develop this area of the business so will suit someone looking for a genuine opportunity and drive to do this. Although this is ideally based in Plymouth we’d be happy to speak to anyone in the South West.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on a wide range of lifting equipment
- Conduct thorough pre-hire and post-hire inspections to ensure equipment is in optimal condition before it reaches customers
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, and perform necessary repairs to ensure equipment functionality and safety
- Collaborate with the service and operations teams to prioritize maintenance tasks and ensure timely equipment readiness
- Drive both lifting hire and sales revenue on a daily basis, through both existing and new business
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements
- Maintain a strong focus on health and safety practices, ensuring all work is conducted in compliance with relevant regulations and standards
- Provide technical support and advice to customers regarding proper equipment usage, maintenance, and safety guidelines
- Assist with loading and unloading equipment as needed, ensuring safe and efficient handling of heavy machinery
- Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance your technical skills and stay updated on industry advancements
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within the equipment rental or construction industry
- Solid understanding of lifting equipment mechanics, electrical systems, and hydraulic components
- Relevant certifications or qualifications in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field would be advantageous
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with colleagues and customers
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
