Business Development Manager - London & Home Counties

An excellent opportunity for a driven, ambitious, target-focused Business Development Manager, with a growth mindset has arisen to join our client, The OPL Group, and make a vast impact within their sales team.


On joining the business, you will be responsible for targeting potential new customers within a range of sectors, including Hospitality, Care Homes, Beauty, Education and Sport & Leisure.


Opening doors and building new relationships will be your primary focus initially, utilising incoming leads via the website and distribution partners, a vast CRM database of target customers, and your own previous connections/self-generated prospects, but as you continue to bring new accounts on board the role will organically move towards nurturing and growing those new customers, so you will need to be highly adaptable in your approach.


Operating as a key distribution partner for several big brand names, their proposition of commercial laundry equipment, including washing machines, tumble dryers, ironers & presses, plus ancillary products such as infection control systems, chemicals and dosers on both a purchase & rental basis, enables The OPL Group to truly offer a 'one stop shop' when it comes to all thing's 'laundry' related.


Not only is the range of potential clients you can target vast, but you also have a number of offerings to discuss with the potential client base, and multiple ways to 'get your foot in the door' and develop a relationship.


Your account base will be located throughout London, Hertfordshire, Berkshire, Middlesex, Essex & Kent. Whilst you will be based from home, there is an expectation for you to be face to face with clients 4 days per week.

Requirements: To be considered for the Business Development Manager role you must:


  • Have a proven track record in new business sales.
  • Ideally have either sold into independent businesses within hospitality/HORECA, care, education or leisure sector OR...
  • Have sold capital equipment (preferably with a service/maintenance contract included as part of the offering)
  • Be motivated, ambitious/career driven and tenacious, with high energy levels, and a big personality.
  • Be highly personable, organized, resilient, efficient, and intuitive.



The Package for Business Development Manager


  • Basic salary up to £40k with huge earning potential (£18k year 1 uncapped)
  • Unique commission scheme which means a % of commission earnt in the previous year will be applicable to following year ensuring guaranteed commission moving into a new financial year.

  • Mobile phone, Fuel Card, Laptop, WFH, Pension & Health care (after 1 years' service)
  • 23 days holiday plus Bank Holidays
