Your Mission: As the Lead Design Manager, you'll drive technical excellence, ensuring that every project is delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standards. You will oversee and guide a team of engineers and design managers, working together to turn ambitious plans into reality. From managing external consultants and contractors to ensuring consistent adherence to project requirements, your leadership will be instrumental in delivering world-class infrastructure.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Leading with impact: Manage and inspire a team of engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment that drives results.
- Owning technical delivery: Ensure all projects meet technical and business requirements while maintaining quality and efficiency.
- Collaborating across teams: Work closely with project management, procurement, and delivery teams to drive seamless project execution.
- Design management: Oversee the design programme to ensure the timely creation of documentation and manage all design-related decisions.
- Driving cost-effective solutions: Ensure every project is delivered in a way that maximizes efficiency and minimizes costs while meeting sustainability targets.
- Engaging with clients: Collaborate with sales and client teams to develop and tailor design requirements that exceed expectations.

What You’ll Need:
- Extensive experience in delivering complex engineering and construction projects, particularly in the UK.
- A solid background in MEP design disciplines, with a deep understanding of the built environment.
- Experience managing the full project lifecycle.
- Strong familiarity with the RIBA stage gate delivery process and digital tools like BIM.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire teams and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
