London, UK, United Kingdom Arlington Recruitment Ltd Full time

The Managing Director is the most senior and leading role in the Production Team and has overall accountability for the strategic vision, commercial

success (profitability) and results of the entire team, incorporating Commercial

Performance, Strategy, Positioning, Team Leadership, Entrepreneurial Innovation and

Client Success.

Working with the CEO the MD is a leading voice in shaping the present and future

strategy & creating & maintaining a “profit first” mindset &

accountability within the team.

To be successful in the role the MD must have a positive, transparent relationship with

the CEO built on a foundation of trust and mutual respect.

The Managing Director acts as the highest point of escalation for matters within the

London + New York studios and is the representative of those studios to the broader

company. The role requires aspects from many different skill sets including leadership,

commercial acumen and accountability, recruitment, team management & operational

‘studio building’ skills.

While outbound business development per se is not a requirement (due to being fulfilled

by others) the responsibilities for generating revenue that the MD hold requires him to

work closely with the BD team to help facilitate sales via efficient processes, timings,

quality and business mindedness within the client facing team. As well as generating

sales via the PMs and CDs within the team.

The role has many points of communication and focuses on balancing business goals

and client expectations against the realities of daily production in the studio. Working

with and through the function leaders the Managing Director should effectively drive,

inspire, shape and elevate the day-to-day activities of all departments under his

mandate.

The role is dynamic, fast paced and often pressured. Resilience, maturity and

adaptability are essential components to succeed in this role.

To be effective in this role you must have excellent leadership ability, be diplomatic,

extremely organised and possess strong attention to detail. You will also possess the

ability to respond quickly to enquiries from your team and clients, analyse problems and

strategize appropriately.

Ultimately, a successful Managing Director will take ownership of the leadership, vision,

ownership of every function in that location.

Characteristics & Skills Required:

● High level commercial acumen and “ownership” mentality. Seeing the business, its
