Due to continued growth, HMH in Aberdeenshire is expanding our Workshop team and seeking qualified Mechanical Technicians to carry out all aspects of repair, overhaul and assembly on a variety of drilling equipment.


  • Contribute to risk assessments and toolbox talks
  • Perform all job functions in a safe manner
  • Carry out Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) to Company standards
  • Ensure timesheets and inspection reports are completed accurately and submitted in a timely manner
  • Carry out QC checks at Goods In point as and when required
  • Report and participate in investigation of all unsafe practices and/or behaviours
  • Suggest improvements to working practices and HMH product lines
  • Ensure adherence to all local waste management policies and procedures
  • Be able to operate forklifts, overhead gantry cranes and vertical lift platforms (following training)

Successful candidates will:


  • hold a NVQ Level 3/HNC or equivalent in a Mechanical Engineering discipline
  • have a good working knowledge of fluid power systems
  • Be experienced in pressure testing (gas and fluid based)
  • Demonstrate knowledge of mechanical systems
  • Have the ability to read schematic and layout drawings
  • Be able to communicate effectively in English (written and oral)
