Job Summary

NES Fircroft is seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join our team in Aberdeenshire. As a key member of our Workshop team, you will be responsible for carrying out all aspects of repair, overhaul, and assembly on a variety of drilling equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to risk assessments and toolbox talks to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Perform all job functions in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to company standards and procedures.
  • Carry out Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) to ensure equipment meets company specifications.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of timesheets and inspection reports.
  • Conduct Quality Control (QC) checks at the Goods In point as required.
  • Report and participate in investigations of unsafe practices and behaviors.
  • Suggest improvements to working practices and product lines to enhance company performance.
  • Adhere to local waste management policies and procedures.
  • Operate forklifts, overhead gantry cranes, and vertical lift platforms after receiving necessary training.

Requirements

  • Hold a NVQ Level 3/HNC or equivalent in a Mechanical Engineering discipline.
  • Have a good working knowledge of fluid power systems.
  • Be experienced in pressure testing (gas and fluid based).
  • Demonstrate knowledge of mechanical systems.
  • Be able to read schematic and layout drawings.
  • Communicate effectively in English (written and oral).
