London, UK, United Kingdom NUFFIELD FOUNDATION-1 Part time

Research Grants and Programmes Manager – Nuffield Foundation

  • Salary: Starting from £50,291 per annum (negotiable depending upon experience).
  • Contract: Fixed term - ideally starting Dec 2024, until end July 2025.
  • Hours: We are open to full time (35hrs) and part time (21hrs+) work patterns, and discussing flexible working arrangements.
  • Location: We are London based (Farringdon). Our staff have the option to work part of the week from home.
  • Closing: 09:30am (BST), Tuesday 15th October 2024

We are looking for somebody with professional experience of research or analysis to ensure our research is relevant, rigorous, and impactful. The role supports the management of the Nuffield Foundation's portfolio of research grants within our Education programme, but may also provide support to grants within our Justice and Welfare programmes too.

The Nuffield Foundation is an open, collaborative, and engaged funder, offering more than money. Its aim is to understand the social, demographic, technological and economic trends that shape people’s lives. To this end, as well as funding research with a particular focus on education, justice and welfare, Nuffield supports three independent research centres focusing on the impact of AI on society; bioethics; and improving the Family Justice system. By connecting the projects it funds, Nuffield gives voice to an overarching narrative and strengthens the impact of its research.

You will be familiar with a range of research methods in the design, development and management of research and analysis projects, with strong quantitative skills and an understanding of research design. You will also have experience of critically appraising research reports.

You should have knowledge of substantive research, policy and practice issues in one or more phases of education and their connection to educational and other outcomes, ideally coupled with a breadth of interest across our other programmes.

In addition to this you will have strong analytical skills, excellent verbal and written communication, be highly organised, and be able to develop collaborative relationships across the organisation.

This is an excellent opportunity to use your research skills to make a difference to people’s lives.

For further information about the role, please click through to the vacancy listing on our website.

About us

The Nuffield Foundation is an independent charitable trust with a mission to advance educational opportunity and social well-being.

We are the founder and co-funder of Nuffield Council on Bioethics, Nuffield Family Justice Observatory and the Ada Lovelace Institute.

How to apply

This is a fixed term contract running to the end of July 2025, with the successful candidate ideally able to start in December 2024. We are also open to considering candidates both on a full or part time basis (a minimum of 3 days per week).

The closing date for applications is 09:30am (BST) on Tuesday 15th October 2024, with interviews scheduled to take place on Tuesday 29th October 2024.

We are committed to inclusive working practices and during the application process we commit to:
