We are seeking a skilled IT Technician to join our team and provide internal IT support to a network of 9 schools across the North West. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the educational sector while utilising your expertise in Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Networking, Windows OS, and strong hardware knowledge.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to staff and students within the school for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Manage and troubleshoot Microsoft 365 applications and services, including Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
- Administer and maintain Active Directory accounts, permissions, and security groups.
- Ensure the smooth functioning of Windows operating systems and servers, including updates, patches, and backups.
- Assist in maintaining network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and wireless access points.
- Perform hardware repairs, upgrades, and installations as needed.
- Document IT processes, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for future reference.
Requirements:
- Solid experience in providing IT support, preferably in an educational or similar environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications and services.
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory management and user/group policies.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, etc.
- Familiarity with Windows operating systems and server environments.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware issues on desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-oriented approach to problem-solving.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, or equivalent would be advantageous.
