Nyetimber is a pioneering luxury brand and multiple award-winning English sparkling wine producer. Our story is one of many firsts; we were the first to pioneer the now-established style of English sparkling wine; we were the first to grow the renowned grape varieties Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier in England exclusively for producing sparkling wine; and the estate where our vines were first planted, was first mentioned in the Domesday book of 1086 by its then Anglo-Saxon name “Nyetimbraha”.
Quality is key to absolutely everything we do at Nyetimber and there is a constant strive for perfection. We produce exceptional sparkling wine, but always keep in mind that the reference to exceptional goes beyond wine, it extends to every touch point of the brand.
This role will focus on promoting the wine and spirits portfolio of The Nyetimber Group, maximising brand potential through the implementation of trade marketing initiatives in line with the defined brand strategy and guidelines. You will be responsible for the execution of On-Trade and Off-Trade activations for the UK and International projects. You will deliver brand awareness, drive traffic, and increase conversion across Nyetimber for the On and Off Trade.
Responsibilities:
- Implement and provide insights into the Trade Marketing strategy for both On and Off-Trade channels. These include luxury hotels such as The Savoy or Cliveden House, contracted groups accounts such as Caprice or D&D, luxury retailers such as Harrods or Fortnum & Mason, independent and online wine merchants such as Berry Brothers & Rudd or The Wine Society, drinks distributors and their salesforces.
- Project-manage and execute Spirits activations with cross-functional teams & third-party to deliver 360 plans with impact on time and on budget.
- Own the internal Digital comms for Trade Marketing: gather all activations information, imagery, relevant links, etc. to feed into our Digital team on a regular basis and always ensure we appropriately amplify all our activities.
- Work closely with customers to maximise our brand visibility across their physical and digital spaces.
- Brief the Design team for any collateral (menus, ads, posters) and digital features (banners, social posts, videos).
- Ensure day-to-day communication with the sales team, supporting with marketing tools to allow them to increase brand visibility at various account levels.
- Support the Senior Trade Marketing Manager as required on international projects execution.
- Write post-activity reports to measure Return On Investment and capture key learnings.
- Work with key National Accounts (online and physical) such as Waitrose or Majestic to execute the annual operating plan centred around consumer activity, tactical pricing promotions, POS creation, visual merchandising, education, use of insights to influence trade behaviour.
- Support brand activation pitches in line with commercial priorities to win tenders.
- Monitor and report competitor activity and pricing across UK and international.
- Provide recommendations derived from data and market example for the On Trade and Retail environment.
- Organise and attend Trade and customer events (Wine GB, Waitrose Festival, etc). Use any opportunity to capture interesting POS or creative ideas to feedback to Brand team.
- Ensure that all administrative tasks such as POS requests, customer systems or registrations such as Brandbank, and all important documents pre and post events/activations are carried out in a timely manner.
Qualifications & Experience:
Key Skills:
- A demonstrated track record of executing creative campaigns on-trade and retail accounts.
- Understanding of the importance of Consumer Journey from the initial sighting of the brand to buying the product.
- An in-depth understanding of omni-channel marketing and an ability to develop strategies to generate interest in the brand, creating demand for the product in both on and off trade accounts.
- Strong analytical abilities or an understanding of the targeted customer in order to develop effective ways for Nyetimber to engage with them.
- Must be able to work autonomously and be highly motivated.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, especially for briefings and delivering feedback.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet targets.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence and communicate at all levels.
- Outstanding attention to detail.
- Practical and methodical in problem solving.
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Windows programmes and Adobe suite.
Experience:
- Trade marketing and activations experience – wines and or spirits.
- Good understanding of digital marketing channels and understanding of how best to utilise these platforms.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Strong academic background.
- WSET qualification.
