Trade Marketing Manager

IM Marketing is a film and entertainment agency delivering Trade Marketing, Partnerships, Events, Content and Publicity across the UK and EMEA. We specialise in film, creating brand partnerships and marketing campaigns that maximise audience exposure and box office share. Our clients include regional and international teams at Universal Pictures International, The Walt Disney Studios, Searchlight Pictures, Studio Canal.


Role Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the delivery of Universal EMEA Trade Marketing campaigns across multiple territories. The role involves collaborating with international, regional and local teams – creating campaign materials for on-screen in-cinema and digital channels. We are looking for a creative thinker who can generate new and innovative ideas that can be implemented across our cinema partners.

The Trade Marketing Manager plays a key role in developing and localising creative content across EMEA. Key to this role is understanding local market needs and liaising with internal stakeholders to ensure localisation of content, tracking and monitor delivery. The Trade Marketing Manager will also be responsible for supporting the day-to-day running of the account, creating presentations, updating live planning documents, attending weekly client and partner meetings and undertaking admin. Maintaining effective relationships and communication with clients and partners is critical.


Key Relationships

  • Primary focus is Universal Pictures EMEA Trade Marketing team
  • Local UPI Trade Marketing team collaboration
  • Regional Exhibitor teams e.g. ODEON, Kinepolis, Vox, Cinema City, Cineplexx
  • Third party industry partners e.g. IMAX, 4DX, Coca-Cola
  • Brand Partnerships and campaign partners e.g. Consumer Products#


Campaign, Ideas, Content and Execution

  • Campaign planning, ideation and concepting in line with film IP
  • Content briefing, reviews, localisation and delivery
  • Promotion scoping and delivery
  • Evaluation and reporting


Account Management

  • Tracking workstreams, managing timelines and actions
  • Scheduling preparing and attending status meetings; ensuring follow-up are actioned correctly
  • Financial admin, requesting, supplying, recording POs and invoices

Role Requirements

  • Exceptional communication skills (email, presentations, calls, meetings and client updates)
  • 2+ years’ experience in roles involving account management
  • Creative thinker who can articulate a concept and big idea
  • Confident and concise communicator who can express ideas with passion
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise and complete tasks

  • Experience working in cinema, film, TV or linked consumer brands

This position will report to the Senior Trade Marketing Manager. The successful candidate will be a key member of the team, delivering Trade Marketing across EMEA and gaining a deep understanding of the film and cinema landscape. Future success in this role will be unearthing innovative creative opportunities with Exhibitor partners to drive commercial growth for Universal Pictures International.
