Miryco Consultants are working with a globally-leading Insurance Broker to grow a new and specialised division within the brand providing strategic insurance solutions for their clients.
This position provides an experienced Claims & Policy Wordings professional the opportunity to step into a strategic position to provide expert advice to clients and colleagues on policy wordings, complex claims, and regulatory issues whilst supporting the growth and development of juniors in a growing and developing function at the forefront of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert, commercially-driven advice to the business and clients on complex claims, policy wordings, and regulatory matters.
- Manage and support various projects while delivering relevant management information, as required.
- Support the wider business including claims teams and underwriters, to negotiate favourable outcomes for clients.
- Draft and develop policy wordings, create innovative solutions and assist brokers with negotiations and client advisory.
- Oversee the entire claim advocacy process for assigned clients, from advising on notification decisions to drafting notifications, managing information flow, and strategically guiding the insurance market to achieve successful claims outcomes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships across the market through hosting though-leadership seminars and authoring articles, whilst staying updated on legal and regulatory changes, and contributing to internal knowledge-sharing and training initiatives.
Background, Skills & Attributes:
- Extensive experience in claims or policy wordings from working within insurance (either in-house or private practice)
- Strong insurance expertise and market awareness (experience of Lloyd’s and international markets)
- Advanced knowledge of claims handling and product & policy wordings.
- Strong understanding of the insurance and regulatory environments.
- Ability to work independently, meet tight deadlines, and build strong relationships.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Experience mentoring junior staff and sharing knowledge.
Qualifications:
- A high-standard Law Degree or equivalence (GDL, CILEx etc)
- At least 5 years' post-qualified experience (candidates with highly specialised expertise matching the above with fewer years of experience will also be considered)
Location: London (Hybrid)
