Responsibilities:

  • 1. Network Infrastructure Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) infrastructure components, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
  • 2. Network Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitor network performance and troubleshoot network issues, including connectivity issues, bandwidth constraints, and network latency.
  • 3. L2 Support: Provide Level 2 technical support to end-users, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues, diagnosing network problems, and resolving technical issues in a timely manner.
  • 4. Network Security: Implement and maintain network security measures, including access control lists (ACLs), firewall rules, VPN configurations, and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS).
  • 5. Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, diagrams, and procedures, ensuring that documentation is kept up-to-date.
  • 6. Change Management: Implement network changes following change management procedures, including performing risk assessments, change impact analysis, and scheduling changes during maintenance windows.
  • 7. Vendor Coordination: Liaise with vendors and service providers to troubleshoot network issues, coordinate equipment replacements, and escalate technical issues as necessary.
  • 8. User Training and Support: Provide training and support to end-users on network-related topics, including best practices for network usage, connectivity troubleshooting, and security awareness.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CompTIA Network+, etc.) are desirable.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, with hands-on experience in LAN/WAN infrastructure support and troubleshooting.
  • 3Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP).
  • Experience with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds, Nagios, etc.).
  • Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting network equipment from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto Networks, etc.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical users.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
